The JFCS Holocaust Center is pleased to partner with Mercy High School’s Farkas Center for this special event!

November 9, 2017
4:00 to 6:00 pm
Mercy High School
3250 19th Avenue, San Francisco 94132

All middle and high school students from San Francisco are invited to join the community at Mercy High School for a special reception and presentation of “A Reason to Remember” – an exhibit which documents the fate of the five Jewish families in the small German town of Roth during the years of the rise of the Third Reich to the Final Solution. Our belief is that this history is extremely relevant to today.

Remarks will be by special guest Annemarie Yellin, a Kristallnacht survivor, and Derek Wetmore, a descendant of the survivors of one of the Roth families. A representative from the German Consulate will also offer a special appreciation. The exhibit was provided by the Institute of Holocaust, Genocide and Memory of the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

This event is co-sponsored by: The Helen and Joe Farkas Center for the Study of the Holocaust in Catholic Schools, JFCS Holocaust Center, Lehrhaus Judaica, Mercy High School, and Teen Curriculum Initiative of Jewish LearningWorks.
