Faces of Genocide is a unique short documentary about the shameful succession of genocidal atrocities throughout the 20th and beginning of the 21st centuries. Through gripping personal stories of survivors, the film examines a culture of cruelty that humanity has allowed to endure and explores why so little progress has been made intervening and preventing these atrocities.
The film is produced by Gayle Donsky, a Bay Area activist in the anti-genocide movement, and presented by Gravitas Docufilms. The purpose of the film is to educate both young and old about this repetitive blight on humanity, spur others to further examine the subject, which will lead to greater understanding, and ultimately, perhaps to effective action to prevent these atrocities.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with a renowned human rights scholar and two genocide survivors who are in the film.
