Fantastic Letters from Tamalpais High School

Letters for Leon

During the first week of May, Holocaust survivor Leon Rajninger shared his story with students at Tamalpais High School in Mill Valley as part of the JFCS Holocaust Center’s William J. Lowenberg Speakers Bureau.

Holocaust Survivor Leon R. shares his storyRegarding Leon’s programs, the organizing teacher wrote: “He is a treasure. My students were especially struck by his response to the question, ‘When did you feel most scared?’ His answer: ‘I was NEVER scared.'”

The following comments make up just a small sample of some of the feedback that we received from the students at Tamalpais High School:

I am an imigrant [sic] from Mexico and you gave me confidence to overcome my fear. I am ready to thrive through this harsh time.

Hearing you talk was a life changing experience.

I loved hearing your story and have an unreal amount of respect for you. I hope I’ll get to see you again.
