The Future of Our Past
A Conversation about Memory and Testimony with Stephen D. Smith,
USC Shoah Foundation, Followed by a Memorial Ceremony

This community event is free and open to the public.


4:00 pm: Reading of the Names—On a continuous cycle prior to the event. To honor victims of the Holocaust, please fill out this online form, email their names to [email protected] OR call Rabbi Daniel Isaacson at 415-449-1213.

5:00 pm: Memorial Commemoration and Ceremony

Stephen D. Smith, Ph.D, will discuss how our Holocaust survivors’ testimonies live on for future generations, followed by a memorial ceremony.

Stephen D. Smith, Ph.D., is an internationally sought after speaker and serves as the Executive Director of the USC Shoah Foundation. He is a visionary leader in the causes and consequences of human conflict and works closely with the JFCS Holocaust Center to use its survivor testimonies for global Holocaust education.

PRESENTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH JEWISH FAMILY AND CHILDREN’S SERVICES’ HOLOCAUST CENTER, LEHRHAUS JUDAICA, JEWISH COMMUNITY CENTER OF SAN FRANCISCO, JEWISH COMMUNITY RELATIONS COUNCIL, AND USC SHOAH FOUNDATION, IN COOPERATION WITH SAN FRANCISCO SYNAGOGUES AND SCHOOLS.
