Nominate a Teacher

Do you know a high school or middle school teacher in your community who would make a great candidate to participate in a statewide initiative on Holocaust and genocide education?

About the Opportunity

JFCS is seeking teachers (grades 6 – 12) within California to serve as the first Teacher Cohort of the California Collaborative for Holocaust and Genocide Education established by the JFCS Holocaust Center. Participating teachers will have the opportunity to learn from a broad network of Holocaust and genocide experts in an intensive 3-day Summer Institute at the USC Shoah Foundation June 26 – 28, 2023 led by the JFCS Holocaust Center in partnership with members of the California Collaborative. The learning will focus on new curricula developed by the California Collaborative – and related pedagogy. Teachers will receive follow-up support during the 2023 – 2024 school year to guide their successful implementation of the curricula with their students. The California Collaborative Teacher Cohort and the Summer Institute are offered at no cost to teachers. Generous funding for the California Collaborative has been provided by the Marin County Office of Education and the State of California.

We value your input and look forward to personally reaching out to your contacts to communicate the opportunity and encourage them to apply!
