Volunteer Opportunities

The JFCS Holocaust Center welcomes volunteers passionate about Holocaust and genocide education, remembrance, Jewish peoplehood, and community engagement.

Roles vary throughout the year and may include:

Assisting Members of the Speakers Bureau

Volunteers support Holocaust and genocide survivors and their descendants by providing transportation, helping facilitate programs, and maintaining relationships to ensure speakers feel valued. 

Volunteers help plan and run our California Teachers Collaborative Summer and Winter Institutes by assembling materials, assisting with registration, greeting participants, and preparing classrooms. 

Volunteers assist in the Tauber Holocaust Library and Archives with shelving, cataloging, inventories, and administrative tasksan ideal role for those detail-oriented and interested in archival work. 

Volunteers help with public events such as Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day), author talks, and lectures by greeting guests, assisting with setup and cleanup, and ensuring attendees feel welcome.
