Remembering the Shoah on TikTok – Introduction & Educational Resources

For today’s youth, TikTok is not only a platform for entertainment, but increasingly also an important source of information. In this context, the TikTok Shoah Commemoration & Education initiative, a collaborative effort of over fifty Holocaust Memorial Sites throughout the world with academic support from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, has created hundreds of TikTok videos that can and are being used in an educational context to teach about the Shoah.

A Series of Miracles: George’s Story of Survival as a Hidden Child

George miraculously survived the Holocaust in France by being hidden by a family friend while his parents were deported to Auschwitz. After the war, he was adopted by his great-uncle in Los Angeles, where he went on to build a successful life as a dentist, marrying, and raising two children. He now has five grandchildren and considers his life to be a series of miracles
