Helena, the younger sister of Stanley Steyer, was born in Poland in 1914. In this picture, she is wearing a school uniform and is most likely in her early teens.

Helena was killed in the Holocaust, along with her husband and three-year-old daughter. Helena’s namesake, Helen Steyer (Stanley’s daughter) has generously donated and funded this exhibition.
