I now know that I can help to make the change I want to see in the world.
Eve, University Fellow, 2022-2023
The Pell University Fellowship and Manovill University Fellowship provide undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to become essential members of the Holocaust Center staff. Pell and Manovill Fellows mentor teens, work with Holocaust and genocide survivors, support the Tauber Holocaust Library and Archives, and facilitate programming for students and adults. They support the Holocaust Center’s work in confronting antisemitism through education and public policy. Virtual programming has expanded the Holocaust Center’s reach beyond California and the United States.
Each Fellowship is a paid position, October through June. Fellows may receive course credit upon completion.
Eligibility:
Special support and funding for the Pell and Manovill University Fellowships are made possible by the Pell Family Foundation and the JFCS Lilly Manovill Tauber Endrei Education Fund.
The Pell University Fellowship is inspired by the legacy of Joseph and Eda Pell, survivors of the Holocaust and strong advocates for Holocaust education.
The Manovill University Fellowship is named in memory of Lilly Manovill z”l, who courageously helped fellow Jews from the Budapest ghetto escape and survive. Lilly had a passion for research and supporting the community.
